To avoid these pitfalls, we consistently opt for homemade alternatives made with familiar ingredients and trusted recipes. These detox energy bars are incredibly versatile—perfect as a vibrant morning snack or a quick afternoon indulgence. They’re not only delicious but also support thyroid and liver health. The addition of collagen powder helps with protein breakdown, while flax seeds provide a wholesome dose of dietary fiber and antioxidants, promoting gut detoxification.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unsweetened coconut flakes

  • 1/2 cup Medjool dates, chopped

  • 1/2 cup coconut butter

  • 1/2 cup Brazil nuts (Cashews, Almonds)

  • 2 tbsp flax seed, ground

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • 5-7 drops of lemon essential oil

  • 1 scoop protein (vanilla)

  • 1 tbsp collagen powder

  • Tiny bit of starch binder (tapioca is great for this)

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Zest from 2 whole lemons

Preparation

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until thoroughly combined, ensuring the dates are fully broken down. Transfer the mixture to a spacious Tupperware container lined with parchment paper. Press down firmly to create a compact and evenly distributed layer.

  2. Freeze for 25 minutes, then cut into squares measuring 4 x 2 inches. Store in the freezer for later enjoyment!
